Discuss the first Angel single here. Did you like it? Were you bummed/happy some songs didn't make the album? Tell us all about it. Info(Black Lotus, 2005) 01. Don't Wanna Run 02. Mother 03. Heaven 04. Darkness

making a single with a song that's only available on the limited extra deluxe version is kinda odd. but oh well, Heaven is a beautiful song, in my opinion it should've been on the album or at least the limited digipack edition like the not as grand song Only One.

In my opinion, this single contains two good songs (DWR and Mother), one good weirdo random song (Darkness) and one grand song (Heaven).
I like DWR and Mother because of the lyrics; really touching, especially Mother. Darkness scares me, but in a good way, but I think it's good it was left off the album because it doesn't really fit in with the rest (glad to see the return of 'Crazy' Michaelsen on the QoL album, though).
The winning song for me, however, is Heaven. I'm still bummed it's only two minutes and I think this could've made an epic song on the actual album. The lyrics, the composition... Heaven!
And +1 @ Only One. That song rather disappointed me as I expected something as good as Heaven. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, and we should be glad we got some extra goods on the limited editions.

Darkness was on the album, but it's true it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the songs there. but it sure is nice to hear that Helena can sing in many, many different ways.

I blame my memory for forgetting about Darkness being on the album. I still stand by my argument that it doesn't really fit in with the rest of the songs.

I'm really glad you like this song as it means a lot to me - I wrote it the day of the big tsunami. Cheers, Audun

Wow, that gives the whole song another dimension to it.
I still find it one of the best songs, if not the best, of the Angel project. I hope the next album will bring a similar track because, in my opinion, it really showcases a different side of the band and also of Helena's vocals.
Well, a similar track without the tragedy going on in real life, that is.
